Profile

The Profile page allows you to manage your personal information on file with TRS, such as your date of birth, name, address, phone, email, and password. If applicable, you will be able to view Power of Attorney details.

Your name and date of birth will be displayed, as they appear in our records. If you have not already provided TRS with date-of-birth documentation, you may do so by clicking "Certify." Members who are not in-service, such as retirees, can update each by clicking "Update" where you will be able to enter the new information and upload supporting documentation. If you update your first or last name, you may enter the following special characters: space, apostrophe, hyphen, or period. "Add Documents" indicates you may upload additional documentation. "Pending Approval" indicates that you have already updated your name or date of birth and TRS is still reviewing your documentation. "Waiting for Documentation" indicates that you have not yet uploaded documentation (or you sent it by mail and TRS hasn’t received it yet). In-service members who change their name will not be able to update their name directly with TRS—they should notify their employer, and the employer would then notify TRS.

Address/Phone

This tab contains your address and phone numbers. To change your contact information, click "Edit," then make the applicable changes and click "Save."

Permanent Address: If mail addressed to you has been returned to TRS, you will see "Returned Mail" after your address. TRS will not resume mailing to you until you update your address. You may also submit a Member's Change of Address Form (code DM13).

Phone: Your phone number(s) on file with TRS will be displayed. Determine which phone number you wish to change (i.e., Home, Mobile, or Work). Select the country code of the phone number from the drop-down list; United States is the default. Then hit the Tab key and enter your phone number. If your phone number has an extension, hit the Tab key to go to the next field and enter the extension. When you are finished, click "Save."

Email

This tab allows you to update your email address.

Your current email addresses on file with TRS are displayed. Please provide your new email addresses in the following format: jsmith@domain.com.

If you update your Personal Email address, TRS will send a Verification Code to the new address. You must verify your new address to complete the update. Please note that the Verification Code will expire 7 days after it is sent. The Verification Code is not case-sensitive. You may obtain a new Verification Code by clicking "Resend."

Password

This tab enables you to create a new password.

Enter your current password in the Current Password box. Then enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password boxes and click "Save."

TRS recommends that you create a new password periodically to enhance the security of your personal information. In the future when you log in, you must use your username and your new password.

As a reminder, your password

  • must be at least 8 characters
  • must include at least one number and one letter
  • can contain the following special characters: ! @ # $ % ^ & * + ? /
  • cannot contain the following: <, >, 00T, admin, and password
  • cannot contain your date of birth, TRS number, or Social Security number
  • cannot be the same as your username, first name, or last name
  • cannot match any of your previous 10 passwords
  • is case-sensitive
  • must meet at least the “Good” strength standard

Power of Attorney

This tab allows you to view the details of a Power of Attorney (POA) on file with TRS. While you cannot modify or amend an existing POA, you may submit a new POA (e.g., TRS Special Power of Attorney (BK75) to replace an existing POA. You may also revoke your POA at any time by sending us a signed, notarized statement.
