Add New EFT Account

You may use this feature to designate an account for Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT).

EFT Information

Enter details about the bank account that will receive your funds. Routing and Account numbers can generally be found on the bottom of your checks. When you enter your bank’s routing number, the name of your bank will be displayed. If there is a joint account holder(s), indicate that person’s name. You may indicate up to five joint account holders. If you have only one TRS account and we can verify your bank information automatically, you will be navigated to the Confirmation screen to complete your EFT enrollment.

If you have more than one TRS account, you will see this screen. Check the applicable box to indicate the TRS payments you would like deposited to this account. If we can verify your bank information automatically, you will be navigated to the Confirmation screen to complete your EFT enrollment.

Upload Supporting Documents

Upload Supporting Documents
If TRS is unable to verify your bank account, you will be required to upload the following supporting documentation:

An Authorization Letter on bank letterhead from your bank. The letter must be signed by a bank officer and indicate the owner(s) of the account, the type of account, the complete account and routing numbers, the bank branch location, and the branch officer’s contact information; OR
A preprinted, voided check or direct deposit authorization form. In this case, TRS may need to contact you by phone for additional verification within two weeks after receiving your check/form. Due to the additional verification, processing of your EFT may be delayed.

If you want to mail your supporting documents to TRS, click "I will upload documents later or send via mail." Mail your letter to:

Teachers' Retirement System of the City of New York
Bowling Green Station
PO Box 5005
New York, NY 10274

TRS keeps EFT requests open for 30 days for members who choose to mail supporting documents.
